OKC FINALLY HAS A ROMANCE BOOKSTORE!!!

Romance is the genre of choice this year, and has been for quite a while. Projecting over a billion dollars in sales this year alone, the Romance industry has changed the literary landscape as well as the book buying landscape.

I know a lot of Romance right now is available on Kindle Unlimited, but sometimes it is just hard to beat a physical copy. Because of this rise in popularity, Romance only bookstores have been popping up in many major cities. Recently, I went to New York City and there was one on our “maybe other things to do” list. We didn’t make it there, but the thought “I wish OKC had something like this” never left my mind. Approximately two days after I returned from vacation Love Stories OKC popped up in my news feed. Lo and behold, OKC HAD A ROMANCE STORE!

Let me tell you what, this is the best marketing plan I have ever seen. The lovely owner of the story started out with Wedding and Prom dresses. When I visited with her the other day she said “Well I had all this extra space so why not!”

The font half of her dress shop is now home to bookshelves filled with new, used, consignment, and local books, lovely arm chairs, and fun bookish merchandise. While your bride dresses pick out a few books and when are you possibly in a more romancey headspace than when wedding dress shopping! Genius!

Anyway, the grand opening was last weekend, and I meant to get this posted sooner, but the week got a bit sideways. She very lovingly hosted several local authors (all of them are featured on our author page! Follow the links below!) for a singing and general grand opening event.
